After a period of establishing a special case, on February 1, the Special Case Board decided to crack the case and arrest Truc, Hoang Thi Cam Le and Le Van Duong.
At the time of arrest, Le confessed that through the Zalo application, he received lottery numbers for many gamblers, including one for Duong with the amount of 42,000,000 VND. After receiving lottery numbers for gamblers, Le transferred them to Truc to summarize during the day.
The police determined that in just the last 4 days, before her arrest, Ha Thi Thanh Truc had organized gambling of more than 1.7 billion VND. During further investigation, Truc confessed that she had started organizing gambling since October 2023 until now and the transaction amount was about 19 billion VND.
Hue City Police said that the coming of Tet and spring is the time when gambling activities tend to increase, so the unit will strengthen professional measures to promptly detect and handle gambling and gambling organization. The group of 9 people arrested included Hoang Anh Luan (born in 1993, residing in Huong Tra town, Thua Thien - Hue province) identified as the leader along with Tran Cong Tho (born in 1987); Duong Minh Tam (born in 1985); Do Duy Binh (born in 1984); Le Huu Dung (born in 1993); Phan Minh Loc (born in 1987), all residing in Phong Dien district (Thua Thien - Hue); Nguyen Tho (born in 1980); Tran Quang Thai (born in 1976), all residing in Huong Tra town and Do Duy Chuong (born in 1991, residing in Hue city).
During the investigation, the police determined that the total amount of money transacted on the football account led by Hoang Anh Luan to organize gambling and gamble with his accomplices for more than 1 month was more than 3.5 million USD, equivalent to more than 176 billion VND.
