On November 2, the Economic Police Team of Ngu Hanh Son District Police (Da Nang City) executed an emergency arrest warrant for Ngo Uy Vu (41 years old, residing in Group 30, Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District) to expand the investigation into the act of fraud and appropriation of property.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Kieu Van Vuong, Deputy Chief of Ngu Hanh Son District Police, the District Police previously received a complaint from Ms. LTNC (residing in Thua Thien - Hue) about being scammed by a "land broker" and having nearly 300 million VND appropriated.
According to the report, Ms. LTNC wanted to buy land in the Quang Nam area. Through social relationships, Ms. LTNC was introduced to Ngo Uy Vu, a "land broker" in Ngu Hanh Son District.
"Land broker" Ngo Uy Vu was arrested by Ngu Hanh Son District Police.
Ngo Uy Vu knew that Ms. LTNC wanted to buy residential land or buy agricultural land to convert into residential land, so he introduced many plots of land in Quang Nam area (bordering Da Nang city).
Vu said he knew a lot of information about the land and the landowner, and had direct relationships with leaders who could help change the land use purpose.
With the intention of defrauding and appropriating property, Vu took Ms. C. to see the plots of land and then gave false information, making up information about the landowner.
Seeing the cheap price of the 4 plots of land that Vu offered, Ms. C. agreed to pay a deposit of 298 million VND. Vu forged 4 contracts and forged the signatures of the landowners to receive money from Ms. C. After receiving the money, Vu fled his residence.
Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Ngu Hanh Son District Police continues to expand the investigation into the fraud case.
