Emergency arrest of woman who poured gasoline on kindergarten teacher

On January 19, the leader of Di Linh District Police (Lam Dong) said that they had urgently arrested Duong Thi Kim Cuong (36 years old, residing in Residential Group 3, Di Linh Town), the person who poured gasoline and set the kindergarten teacher on fire, to investigate the cause of the incident.

According to initial information, on the afternoon of January 17, Duong Thi Kim Cuong had an argument with Ms. NTKD (32 years old), who lives across the street (a teacher at a local kindergarten). During the argument, Ms. D. was doused with gasoline by Cuong.

After being doused with gasoline, Ms. D. ran home to wash herself with water and then went out into the street to continue arguing. During the argument and struggle, Cuong suddenly lit a lighter, causing the gasoline to burn fiercely on Ms. D.

Ms. D. was burned and collapsed on the side of the road.

Camera footage shows flames engulfing Ms. D.; she ran about 15 meters before collapsing on the side of the road. Locals discovered her and put out the fire, then took Ms. D. to the hospital for emergency treatment. Ms. D. has now been transferred to Ho Chi Minh City for further treatment.

Immediately after the incident, Di Linh District Police urgently arrested Duong Thi Kim Cuong and consolidated the case file to transfer to Lam Dong Provincial Police for further investigation and handling according to authority.
