On May 10, information from the Border Guard Command of Ha Tinh province said that the unit had just coordinated with functional forces to detect and arrest 2 cases of transporting large quantities of drugs from Laos into Vietnam for consumption through Cau Treo International Border Gate (Huong Son District, Ha Tinh).
2 Lao suspects and quantity of drugs arrested
Accordingly, at around 9:00 a.m. on May 9, at the entry lane of Cau Treo International Border Gate, the Border Guard force of Ha Tinh province coordinated with the Customs Department of this province to catch Xeng (36 years old) and Sisavanh Yongyaerlor (36 years old, both residing in Cam Cot district, Bolikhamxay province, Laos) driving a car with a Lao license plate illegally transporting drugs.
Searching the car, the authorities seized 30 heroin cakes, 18 kg of ecstasy, 21 kg of Ketamine, 20 kg of synthetic drugs (total weight of about 70 kg of drugs).
Through initial investigation, the two suspects confessed that they had been hired to transport the above drugs from Cam Cot district to Vietnam for sale in exchange for a fee of 28,000 USD.
Evidence of the case
Previously, at 3:30 p.m. on May 7, also at the entry lane of Cau Treo International Border Gate, Ha Tinh Border Guard forces coordinated with functional agencies to discover and arrest Le Quyen Anh (24 years old) and Tran Thanh Lam (29 years old, both residing in Nghi Loc District, Nghe An) for illegally transporting drugs.
Checking the vehicle, the authorities seized 12,000 synthetic drug pills (pink pills).
At the investigation agency, the two suspects confessed that they went to Vientiane (Laos) together to buy the above drugs and then transported them to Vietnam for consumption.
The two drug trafficking cases mentioned above are being further investigated by the Border Guard of Ha Tinh province, completing their files for handling according to the provisions of law.
