(Baoquangngai.vn) - After 23 years of operation, the Provincial General Museum (Le Trung Dinh Street, Quang Ngai City) is seriously degraded, affecting the preservation and display of artifacts and relics here.
Construction began in 1997 and the museum was put into operation in 2001. Today, the Provincial Museum has become seriously degraded. Outside the museum, the brick walls are peeling and covered with moss. Inside the exhibition area, the walls are peeling off in white patches. During the rainy season, rainwater seeps into the walls, causing mold.

The Provincial Museum is currently displaying many national treasures such as the statue of the Champa monk Phu Hung, a unique work of art dating from the 9th-10th century; the Tra Veo 3 and Lam Thuong gold jewelry set; the collection of 18 Long Thanh terracotta vases (Sa Huynh culture). There are also many jar tombs and jar tombs (a burial custom of ancient Sa Huynh residents), jewelry such as three-prong and four-prong earrings, beads made from shells and nephrite (typical artifacts of ancient Sa Huynh residents found during excavations at many relics of Long Thanh, Phu Khuong, Thanh Duc, and An Khe lagoon)...
At the same time, the museum also displays a double tomb found in Oc hamlet, Ly Son in 1997, dated about 2,500m ago. The degraded state of the Provincial Museum makes the work of preserving and promoting cultural values difficult.
