On the afternoon of February 19, the Provincial People's Council, term XIII, 2021 - 2026, held its 31st session. This is a thematic session to review and approve Resolutions on the establishment of specialized agencies of the Provincial People's Committee to ensure the time for organization arrangement according to the direction of the Central Government. The session also reviewed, discussed and decided on a number of important contents, contributing to the goals of socio-economic development, national defense and security in the province.

PASSING IMPORTANT RESOLUTIONS

The meeting approved the draft Resolution adjusting the target of the growth rate of the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2025 to strive to reach 8.5% or more. Abolish Resolution No. 09 dated July 21, 2020 of the Provincial People's Council on assigning the Provincial People's Committee to decide on investment policies for a number of Group C projects according to regulations. Supplement the revenue and expenditure estimates for 2025 from foreign non-refundable aid capital from the state budget revenue source.

Passing the Resolution regulating specific expenditure levels for local industrial promotion activities in Quang Ngai province. Regulating expenditure levels to ensure international agreement work in Quang Ngai province.

The meeting approved the Resolution on the urban development program of Quang Ngai City to 2030, with a vision to 2050. In 2025, wards will be established with the expected names of Tinh Khe, Tay An, Nghia Dong, Nghia Dung, Tran Van Tra, An Nhon and An Phu. In the period up to 2030, the administrative units of 3 wards: Nguyen Nghiem, Tran Hung Dao and Le Hong Phong will be merged into 1 ward. In the period up to 2050, 2 wards of Tinh Ky and Nghia Ha will be established on the basis of the current status of 2 communes of Tinh Ky and Nghia Ha. The estimated capital demand for urban construction investment in Quang Ngai City to 2050 is about 74 trillion VND. Of which, public investment capital is nearly 40 trillion VND, and non-budget capital is more than 34 trillion VND.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council also dismissed from office members of the Provincial People's Committee Mr. Tran Van Man, former Director of the Department of Construction; Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, former Director of the Department of Science and Technology; Mr. Ton Long Hieu, former Director of the Department of Justice; Ms. Huynh Thi Phuong Hoa, former Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs due to job transfer or retirement at will.

Concluding the session, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Bui Thi Quynh Van emphasized that 2025 was identified by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee and all agencies in the political system as the year of acceleration and breakthrough to reach the finish line. This is also a year of special significance for completing the targets, goals and tasks of the 2020 - 2025 term, as well as creating an important basis and foundation to enter the new period of 2026 - 2031. Currently, the province is focusing on actively implementing all requirements and tasks to complete the set goals and plans.

With that spirit, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the Provincial People's Committee to strengthen direction and management more drastically, effectively implementing the goals and targets of 2025. Based on the assessment of the current situation, situation and implementation results of 2024 at all levels and sectors, there must be orientations for 2025; limitations, bottlenecks, agencies and individuals have been identified.
