On February 18, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held a conference to announce results, award certificates and commend products achieving OCOP certification under the OCOP 2024 Program.

In 2024, the OCOP product classification and evaluation council at the district level assessed and classified 98 products with 62 subjects. As a result, 35 products with 70 points or more were eligible to be submitted to the higher council for classification with 4 stars or more, and 59 products received 3-star certification.
The provincial approval council unanimously evaluated and classified 35 products with 4 stars or more from 18 subjects. Of which, 6 products were upgraded, 7 products were re-certified, and 22 were new products. In addition, there were 2 products that achieved national OCOP standards, which were “Freeze-dried durian” of Sau Ri Company Limited and “Dried purple sweet potato” of Dong Phat Food Company Limited.
After 6 years of implementing the OCOP Program, 230 products have been certified OCOP (including 2 products with 5 stars). There are 79 products with 4 stars and 149 products with 3 stars, with 133 entities (31 cooperatives, 6 cooperative groups, 30 companies and 66 production and business households).

Mr. Nguyen Van Liet - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of the assessment and classification of OCOP products in 2024. For products that have been assessed and classified at the provincial level, the subjects need to continue to research, innovate and improve the quality and design of products to promote the value of OCOP products of Vinh Long province. In addition, it is necessary to continue to strengthen the propaganda, deployment and implementation of the OCOP Program, especially the purpose, meaning and benefits of participating in the program; continue to select products with potential and strengths of the locality to register to participate in the OCOP program...
