At the program, the Organizing Committee honored 2 entities whose products were granted National OCOP Product Certificates (5-star OCOP products) by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and awarded certificates to 18 entities of 35 products granted 4-star OCOP certificates by the People's Committee of Vinh Long province.
Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Liet said that after 6 years of implementing the One Commune One Product Program, the whole province has had 230 products achieving OCOP certification; of which 2 products achieved 5 stars, 79 products achieved 4 stars and 149 products achieved 3 stars with 133 subjects including cooperatives, cooperative groups, companies and production and business households.
The OCOP program has initially achieved results, thereby promoting many local advantageous products, enhancing the role of the community; at the same time, promoting production according to the value chain, creative startups, promoting household economy and rural economy.
Mr. Nguyen Van Liet emphasized that for products that have been evaluated and ranked at the provincial level, the subjects need to continue to research, innovate and improve the quality and design of the products to promote their value. Along with that, departments, branches and organizations at all levels should strengthen propaganda and implement the OCOP Program in the coming period, raising consumer awareness in choosing to use and promote local OCOP products.

In addition, sectors and localities coordinate to support the development of cooperatives, enterprises and craft villages, thereby promoting the leading role in the OCOP product value chains; at the same time, continue to select products with potential and strengths of the locality to register to participate in the OCOP program.
In addition, sectors and localities increase support for OCOP entities to promote trade, invest in modern machinery and equipment, design and innovate product models, build product introduction and sales points, especially focus on linking with tourism to contribute to promoting, boosting consumption, promoting production, and developing OCOP products of the province.
Mr. Tran Vinh Phu, representative of Duc Dat Homemade Jam Production Facility (Tan An Luong Commune, Vung Liem District) said that in the past, his family mainly sold pandan coconut jam products to acquaintances and local traditional markets, with low revenue and the main workers being family members.
Over the past time, with the support of industries and localities, the facility has gradually improved processing techniques, developed brands, ensured food safety and hygiene regulations to gain customer trust and expand the market. The facility's products have participated in trade promotion programs and consumed on e-commerce platforms, thereby being widely consumed nationwide.
The 4-star OCOP standard Pandan Coconut Jam product is a source of excitement and creates conditions for the facility to continue to develop. In the coming time, the facility will continue to improve and enhance quality in the direction of "green, delicious, clean, safe", striving to ensure OCOP product standards, gradually increase revenue, contribute to family economic development and support jobs for local workers.
According to the OCOP Product Classification Council under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program of Vinh Long province, in 2024, the whole province has 98 products registered to participate in the program. Through evaluation and classification, 35 products were evaluated and classified by the Provincial Council with 4 stars; of which 6 products were upgraded, 7 products were re-certified and 22 products were new.
In particular, in 2024, Vinh Long province will have 2 products granted National OCOP Product Certificates by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The results of the product evaluation reflect the capacity of organizations and individuals who are producing and trading, thereby creating favorable conditions for departments and branches to promptly provide appropriate support and quality improvement.
Through the implementation of the program, the subjects have paid more attention to the application of science and technology in the production and processing of agricultural products, thereby improving the quality of products; at the same time, increasing the application of information technology in management, operation, promotion, introduction and consumption of products, gradually improving product quality and competitiveness in the market.
