(NLDO) - Provinces from Phu Yen to Ca Mau, closely monitor the developments of storm No. 10, based on the situation, decide to ban fishing boats and tourist boats from going to sea.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the afternoon of December 23, the tropical depression in the sea northwest of Truong Sa archipelago strengthened into storm No. 10 in 2024, internationally named Pabuk.

Forecast by 4:00 p.m. on December 24, the center of storm No. 10 is at about 11.3 degrees North latitude; 111.1 degrees East longitude; in the southwest sea area of the central East Sea, moving westward, speed about 5-10 km/hour.
At 4:00 p.m. on December 25, the center of storm No. 10 was at about 10.8 degrees North latitude; 109.5 degrees East longitude; on the sea from Phu Yen to Ba Ria-Vung Tau, moving in the West Southwest direction, about 5-10 km/hour and gradually weakening into a tropical depression and continuing to move to the sea from Binh Thuan to Tra Vinh.
Due to the impact of storm No. 10, on the night of December 23 and the day of December 24, the northern and central areas of the East Sea (including the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago), the northwestern waters of the southern East Sea (including the waters north of the Truong Sa archipelago), and the waters from Quang Tri to Binh Thuan will have showers and thunderstorms. There is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.
According to the meteorological agency, from the night of December 23 to December 25, in the area from Da Nang to Khanh Hoa, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall from 60-150 mm, locally over 250 mm. Warning of the risk of local heavy rain (>100 mm/6 hours). Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan and the Eastern Central Highlands will have moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain. Warning on the night of December 25, in the Central Central region, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain. From December 26, heavy rain is likely to gradually decrease.
Meanwhile, due to the influence of cold air, from the night of December 24, 2024 to January 2, 2025, the North and North Central regions will have sunny and cold days, while the mountainous areas of the North will have severe cold in some places; high mountainous areas may experience frost and frost.
To proactively respond to the developments of storm No. 10, on the afternoon of December 23, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development issued a telegram requesting ministries, branches, and Chairmen of People's Committees of coastal provinces from Phu Yen to Ca Mau to closely monitor the developments of the storm; strictly manage means of transport going to sea; based on the specific situation, decide to ban fishing boats, transport ships, and tourist boats from going to sea.
Dangerous areas in the next 24 hours: From latitude 9.5-13.5 degrees North, from longitude 110.0 to 114.5 degrees East; in the next 48 hours: From latitude 9.0-12.5 degrees North, from longitude 109.0-112.5 degrees East (dangerous areas are adjusted in forecast bulletins).
