On the side of Lai Chau province, there were comrade Vu Manh Ha, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Committee of the People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; departments, branches, sectors, unions, and armed forces of Lai Chau province.

60 years ago, on April 16, 1964, the Standing Committee of Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee decided to establish Lai Chau Newspaper and published the first issue on May 1, 1964. Lai Chau Newspaper was published once a week, 4 pages, small size, with a circulation of about 200 - 300 copies/issue. In 1994, to be associated with the historical place name Dien Bien Phu, "Lai Chau Newspaper" was renamed "Dien Bien Phu Newspaper", published twice a week, with 4 printed pages. In November 1997, the first issue of "Dien Bien Phu Newspaper for ethnic minorities in the highlands" was introduced to readers, published once a month.

Pursuant to Resolution 22/2003/QH11 dated November 26, 2003 of the National Assembly on the separation and adjustment of administrative boundaries of some provinces, Lai Chau province was divided into 2 provinces: Lai Chau and Dien Bien. Accordingly, Lai Chau Newspaper was also re-established and put into operation from January 1, 2004 under the name "Lai Chau Newspaper". Lai Chau Newspaper has so far published 4 issues/week, 4,000 copies/issue; Weekend Newspaper 2,000 copies/issue; Lai Chau Newspaper for ethnic minorities in the highlands 3 issues/month, 4,400 copies/issue.
In 2010, Lai Chau Electronic Newspaper came into operation with a modern, smart, and convenient interface to introduce and promote the image of people, nature, culture, potential, and development advantages of Lai Chau. In particular, the birth of the internet TV column published regularly every day was well received and highly appreciated by the public. The products were designed in the form of E-Magazine, Inphographic, the combination of written content, images, videos, clips, etc. in a press product has contributed to diversifying the multimedia products of Lai Chau Newspaper.
In newspaper publications, specialized pages and columns are maintained in an increasingly diverse and high-quality manner, with a great propaganda effect and influence in social life. Special pages and columns have contributed to conveying the Party's viewpoints, policies and guidelines, the State's policies and laws to the people of all ethnic groups in the province; propagating and educating traditions, ethics and lifestyles, fighting against false and hostile information, preventing social evils; encouraging and motivating people of all walks of life to compete in labor production and economic development. Lai Chau Newspaper is always an important information channel, holding a place in the hearts of readers and is spiritual food in the lives of people of all ethnic groups, and is a reliable address and a bridge for kind-hearted people and philanthropists doing charity and humanitarian work.
In addition, Lai Chau Newspaper has also won many high awards in competitions of the Central Government, ministries, departments, branches and the province. In recognition of its achievements, Lai Chau Newspaper has been honored to receive noble awards from the Party, State, Government, ministries, departments, branches and Lai Chau province.


Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Le Quoc Minh, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper acknowledged, congratulated and highly appreciated the important achievements and contributions of Lai Chau Newspaper in the past time, actively contributing to the overall development of the Party newspaper system nationwide. He emphasized: Lai Chau Newspaper continues to innovate in the strong development trend of the 4.0 technology revolution, artificial intelligence, digital transformation; improve the quality of works, forms of publications, develop in a modern, professional direction, convey information quickly, accurately, attract readers, meet the requirements of the task...


Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Vu Manh Ha, Standing Deputy Secretary of Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee congratulated, acknowledged and commended the achievements of Lai Chau Newspaper over the past 60 years, and at the same time requested the cadres, reporters and employees of Lai Chau Newspaper to: Actively and extensively propagate the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, socio-economic development achievements, political events; promote the image of Lai Chau, introduce the province's potential, strengths and investment attraction policies to domestic and foreign readers; strictly implement the Party and State's regulations on press work and press activities; build Lai Chau Newspaper to develop in the direction of a multimedia, multi-platform, multi-service media agency, a converged newsroom model; improve the quality of the team of cadres, reporters, political training associated with professional training, etc.



On this occasion, the Provincial Party Executive Committee presented a banner to Lai Chau Newspaper with the words "Revolutionary - Creative - Modern - Development".
The Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 collectives and 10 individuals; The Editor-in-Chief of Lai Chau Newspaper awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives and 21 individuals with achievements in the emulation campaign to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Lai Chau Newspaper's founding (April 16, 1964 - April 16, 2024) and the publication of the first issue (May 1, 1964 - May 1, 2024).
