TPO - On April 15, at Trung Vuong Secondary School (Hai Chau District, Da Nang City), the Youth Research Institute, the Tobacco Harm Prevention Fund - Ministry of Health and the Da Nang City Youth Union jointly organized the launching ceremony of the painting contest to propagate the harmful effects of tobacco with the theme "For a green life - Say no to tobacco" in 2025.

In the context of the current situation of smoking, especially electronic cigarettes, which is increasing and worrying among young people, the program aims to raise awareness, change behavior and build a healthy lifestyle right from school age.

Through the creative and familiar form of drawing, students are inspired to actively seek knowledge and express their own perspectives and ideas in preventing the harmful effects of tobacco.

Hundreds of students enthusiastically participated and submitted entries with the theme "For a green life - Say no to cigarettes".

The launching ceremony at Trung Vuong Secondary School is the starting point for the journey to spread community awareness, inspire and change behavior in protecting future generations from the dangers of tobacco. More than a contest, this is a message from the young generation about a green, healthy and smoke-free Vietnam.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Duan - Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Youth Union said: Propagating the harmful effects of tobacco through painting activities is not only creative but also a meaningful form of education, helping to convey a profound message to the community and the whole society. Therefore, propaganda and prevention of the harmful effects of tobacco play an important role in protecting the health of future generations, contributing to reducing the rate of smoking in the community, while reducing the burden of disease and economic costs for each individual, family and society.

Dr. Dang Vu Canh Linh - Vice Chairman of the Central Youth Union's Scientific Council, Director of the Institute for Youth Research said: "The propaganda painting contest with the theme 'For a green life - Say no to tobacco' is an activity with profound educational significance. The contest not only contributes to raising awareness among young people about the harmful effects of tobacco, but also arouses the spirit of creativity and responsibility in each child.
