As of October 25, at least two people have filed a lawsuit against McDonald's in the US due to digestive problems after consuming products from this fast food chain.
Regarding the McDonald's lawsuit, NBC News reported that Clarissa DeBock was hospitalized and diagnosed with E.coli infection in late September. She blamed McDonald's Quarter Pounder hamburgers for the incident and filed a lawsuit on October 25, demanding more than $50,000 in compensation from the company.
Similarly, on October 23, Mr. Eric Stelly also requested compensation equivalent to the above amount, in the lawsuit stating that he contracted E.coli after eating a hamburger at McDonald's. The investigation by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that it had identified at least 49 cases of the above bacteria related to the Quarter Pounder. McDonald's said the cause could come from the type of onion in the sandwich, which was provided by another unit.
