On the evening of September 15, the White Blouse music night organized by the program "Plate of rice on the wall of Buon Ma Thuot" took place in a warm and meaningful atmosphere. All the money raised will be used to buy rice for people in the flood-hit areas in the North.

According to the organizers, the music night was organized by the core group of the program "Plate of rice on the wall Buon Ma Thuot" with the participation of many doctors, physicians, businessmen, philanthropists, musicians and singers.

"On the 8th anniversary of the program, the organizers donated all the money to support the people of the North in the form of 15,000 meals (equivalent to 375 million VND) to hospitals in the provinces most affected by Typhoon Yagi," affirmed Dr. Pham Hoa Anh (Thien Hanh Hospital), a core member of the program.

The program raised more money than the organizers expected.

Specifically, before the concert, the amount of money donated to the program's accounts was nearly 300 million VND.

By the end of the session, the amount of money donated on the spot had increased to nearly 370 million VND, not to mention some co-owned accounts that could not be stated.

"The organizers plan to allocate 400 million from the music night to buy rice for people in the three northern provinces heavily affected by the storm: Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, and Yen Bai," informed Dr. Hoa Anh.

Why give out rice?

Doctor Hoa Anh said that after the storm, many people had to go to the hospital for treatment, and their circumstances were very difficult.

"We print coupons and distribute them to people so they can go to hospital canteens to choose their own food and eat hot food to recover quickly. The canteens compile the coupons for the hospitals to count, and we transfer the money."

According to the program's organizers, this helps each meal reach the people and does not waste the support money from benefactors.

The program "Rice Plate on the Wall Buon Ma Thuot" will print 15,000 rice coupons and distribute them to hospitals in the three above-mentioned provinces.

The group also contacted social work teams at hospitals to distribute meal coupons to patients and their families when they visit the clinic at a rate of 2 coupons/person/day.

Helped 1 million meals for patients and the poor

The program "Plate of rice on the wall Buon Ma Thuot" was born on April 7, 2015 with the goal that all (100%) of the money donated to the group's fund will be used to buy rice for the poor.

According to Dr. Hoa Anh, many families of ethnic minority patients come to the hospital because they run out of money for food, so they have to take the patients home while they are still undergoing treatment.

The group of doctors thought that if they provided daily charity meals, the patients would stay and be treated completely.

With the initial 10 meals distributed on September 12, 2016, after 8 years of maintenance, nearly 1 million meals have been delivered to poor patients.
