(NADS) - On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, Quang Binh tourism industry witnessed impressive growth with more than 163,400 visitors, an increase of 10.5% compared to the previous year. Favorable weather and a series of rich tourism activities have created great attraction for domestic and foreign tourists.
Number of visitors increased sharply, tourism services were bustling
Of the total number of visitors during Tet, domestic visitors still accounted for the overwhelming proportion with more than 158,600, an increase of 10.1% compared to the previous year. Most visitors came from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and the central provinces such as Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang. Visitors often traveled in small groups, families, mainly by personal vehicles, trains or planes.
Notably, the number of international visitors reached about 4,785, an increase of 24.1% compared to 2024. Foreign visitors mainly come from the UK, the Netherlands, the US, Germany, Australia, China, South Korea, etc. This growth shows that Quang Binh is increasingly becoming an attractive destination on the international tourism map.
In order to meet the increasing travel demand, Dong Hoi Airport has expanded its operating hours to 24/24, increasing the flight frequency from 4 to 7-9 round trips/day. The railway industry has also added more trains to serve passengers returning home and traveling.
Attractive tourist attractions, vibrant accommodation services
The accommodation system in the province has reached an occupancy rate of about 50%, of which hotels from 4 stars and above, homestays and farmstays in Phong Nha, Dong Hoi have an occupancy rate of up to 90%. Many accommodation establishments organize New Year's Eve activities, gift giving, and year-end programs, helping visitors experience the atmosphere of the traditional Vietnamese New Year.
Natural, cultural and historical attractions have attracted a large number of tourists since the first days of the new year. Phong Nha Cave, Thien Duong Cave, Hoang Phuc Pagoda, Than Dinh Mountain, the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap, etc. are all bustling with visitors and sightseers. Discovery and adventure tours in Phong Nha - Ke Bang continue to be a bright spot, with many groups of visitors starting the spring with unique trekking and cave exploration journeys.
In addition, art programs and spring festivals are held throughout the localities such as fireworks, Bai Choi festival at Ho Chi Minh Square (Dong Hoi), Bo Trach Spring Market, Quang Ninh agricultural fair... contributing to creating a vibrant atmosphere in the first days of the year.

To ensure safety and service quality, the Quang Binh Department of Tourism has proactively implemented a plan to inspect environmental hygiene and food safety at tourist attractions, hotels and restaurants. Security and order, fire prevention and fighting work have also been strictly implemented, helping tourists enjoy the Tet holiday with peace of mind.
In addition, the Quang Binh tourism industry has promoted promotion on digital platforms and media, bringing the image of Quang Binh tourism closer to domestic and foreign tourists. Channels such as Facebook, Zalo, Instagram, TikTok of the Tourism Promotion Center continuously update information and support tourists promptly.
