Beijing, China plans to add 100 smart factories and digital manufacturing facilities over the next three years, the Beijing Municipal Government said, as part of its 2024-2026 action plan to digitize the city's manufacturing sector.
The Chinese capital is set to push all major manufacturing companies to go digital. Last month, smartphone maker Xiaomi launched a new factory in Beijing equipped with advanced smart manufacturing technology that can produce about 10 million phones a year.
Since 2021, Beijing has built 103 smart factories and digital manufacturing bases. According to China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the country has become the world's largest smart manufacturing technology application market with more than 10,000 digital manufacturing bases and smart factories.
