On the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the founding of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) (August 8, 1967 - August 8, 2024), the Embassies of ASEAN countries and Timor Leste coordinated with the University of Technology Brunei (UTB) and the ASEAN Youth Network Brunei (AYAN Brunei) to organize the ASEAN Textile Exhibition from August 22-24 in the capital city of Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.
At the Exhibition, representative agencies and enterprises of ASEAN countries introduced many traditional costumes and unique textile products, attracting the attention of many agencies, organizations, Brunei people and international friends. In particular, the participation of the Crown Prince of Brunei Darussalam Al-Muhtadee Billah was one of the highlights of the Exhibition, which was paid attention to and reported extensively by the Brunei press.
The exhibition booth of the Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei displays a number of traditional Vietnamese ao dai, ao ngu than and modernized ao dai, combined with ao dai performances by the Vietnamese community and UTB University students.
Delegates and friends were interested and impressed by the beauty, history and significance of the Ao Dai, especially the reflection of the cultural and humanistic values of the Vietnamese people through the Ao Ngu Than costume. The Embassy's exhibition booth also displayed a number of rattan and bamboo products and handicrafts provided by Vietnamese businesses in Brunei.

Participation in the ASEAN Textile Exhibition is part of the efforts of the Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei Darussalam to celebrate ASEAN Day, promote Vietnamese culture and contribute to promoting understanding and people-to-people exchange between the two countries.
These are also priority contents in the Action Program to implement the Vietnam - Brunei Comprehensive Partnership for the 2023-2027 period, approved during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Brunei in February 2023.
