According to Gaming Bolt , October this year is a time when the gaming industry witnessed a series of blockbuster products being released, one of which is Alan Wake 2 by Remedy Entertainment.
The game will launch on October 27 (after a delay to avoid direct competition with Marvel's Spider-Man 2 ). The title promises to give fans over 20 hours of gameplay, and will also receive two expansion packs after launch.
Alan Wake 2 will have a free expansion
Not stopping there, Remedy creative director Sam Lake said that the survival horror game will receive additional free expansions. "We've talked about fun things, with music and action. We haven't gone into any DLC yet. To be safe, we've named the paid DLC packs Night Springs and Lake House right now," Lake said at the EGX Theater.
"But also, we have free DLC packs coming out. They're pretty significant, and I hope we'll go into more detail about them once the game launches. But they'll all be free to anyone who buys the game."
It remains to be seen what content these free DLC packs will contain, but it will likely be similar to Remedy's supernatural third-person shooter Control .
Alan Wake 2 is coming next week to Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC (via the Epic Games Store). It's a digital-only release, priced at $60 on consoles and $50 on PC.
