In April 2024, the audience was "stirred up" by a text message between Min Hee Jin and president Bang Si Hyuk with the content of wanting to "trample on Aespa".

Therefore, the news that HYBE Group's "pet" directly confronted its senior by launching a new product on the same day quickly attracted great public attention.

Besides, the comeback of Seventeen and ITZY also made fans "restless" because the products all have special meanings.

This could be Seventeen's last full 13-member MV before the members enlist in the military. ITZY's new MV marks the return of member Lia after a long hiatus due to anxiety disorder.

Aespa goes head to head with ILLIT

Since their debut, the music direction and concept of girl group Aespa have been highly appreciated by the audience for their novelty and uniqueness.

Proof of this is the success of Supernova in May, the song set a record for the fastest perfect all-kill (PAK) by a girl group in 2024 (in less than 12 days).

Following the success of the album Armageddon , the SM Entertainment girl group will return in October with the mini album Whiplash .

From the revealed intro, it can be seen that Aespa's new song remains faithful to the hip-hop dance melody and catchy electronic music that brought success to the group before.

With Whiplash , virtual reality technology was fully utilized by SM Entertainment. Instead of real images, four virtual versions of the members appeared at the end of the intro, making the audience curious.

Returning to the music scene on the same day as Aespa is HYBE Group's 5th generation group -. Although they have only debuted in K-pop for nearly half a year, the five girls from HYBE have proven their appeal with a series of impressive achievements.

According to Allkpop, ILLIT is the first group in K-pop history to enter the global Spotify chart on the first day of their debut release.

The group's song Magnetic also entered Spotify's daily chart just 15 hours after its release. The previous record belonged to LE SSERAFIM with the song Fearless .

What makes ILLIT quickly loved is their dynamic, youthful and confident concept, a breath of fresh air in the almost saturated K-pop market.

On the evening of September 23, the 5th generation girl group released a nearly 9-minute long film, introducing the stories that will be told in the album I'll like you .

From the video, it can be seen that HYBE has invested extremely carefully in ILLIT's comeback, the concept of fairytales intertwined with reality makes the audience predict that the group may return with many versions in one album like Super real me .

Internal conflicts aside, the comebacks of Aespa and ILLIT are both worth looking forward to, as the two groups have completely opposite musical styles and concepts.

“I'm so excited about Aespa”, "ILLIT is smart, releasing their comeback on the same day as Aespa will definitely help increase attention”, “I'm cheering for both groups, fighting!" - comments from viewers on Allkpop.

Seventeen and ITZY return with full members

Seventeen deserves to be one of the most hardworking groups of 2024 with a busy schedule from TV shows, new albums and tours in many cities around the world.

With a large lineup (13 members), converging all strengths from visual, singing, rapping, dancing, Seventeen quickly attracted public attention, becoming one of the top names of gen 3.

Facing the general situation of K-pop boy groups, the Korean members of Seventeen will enlist in the army one by one, starting with the "eldest brother" Yoon Jeonghan.

Seventeen's 12th mini album Spill the feels will be released on October 14, as an emotional gift from the members to their fans.

Another group that is expected to return with full members is ITZY, after a long period of time when member Lia had to stop working due to an anxiety disorder.

Since Lia's absence, the name ITZY has gradually lost popularity in K-pop, even losing to newly debuted rookies like NewJeans. Therefore, when JYP Entertainment announced that ITZY would be returning with all members, it made fans extremely excited.

According to the management company JYP, the new album of the five girls named Gold includes 11 songs with diverse styles.

Audiences are hoping that the girl group will regain their form like when they were famous with a series of hits like Dalla Dalla and Wannabe.

In addition to the four groups above, the K-pop race in October also welcomes the return of many prominent faces such as: Jennie (BlackPink), Baby Monster, StayC and Kiss of Life...

Jennie's new product is a milestone marking her solo career after leaving YG Entertainment.

Not to be outdone, YG Entertainment announced that Baby Monster has finished recording their first full album, scheduled to be released in October.
