90 hectares of forest and sugarcane in Ninh Hoa town were burned down.

On May 9, Mr. Tran Thien Phu Cuong, Chief of Office of Ninh Hoa Town People's Committee, said that the authorities are currently conducting damage statistics and verifying the cause of the fire that occurred in Ninh Son commune on the night of May 7.

The fire broke out on the night of May 7, burning down about 90 hectares of forest and sugarcane.

At around 10:30 p.m. on May 7, a fire suddenly broke out in the forest area of ​​sub-area 59 (belonging to the Northern Khanh Hoa Protective Forest Management Board, Ninh Son commune), spreading to the planted forest and sugarcane area of ​​the people of village 5.

The large fire damaged about 30 hectares of forest; 45 hectares of sugarcane and 15 hectares of acacia forest planted by people for 2-4 years.

Immediately afterwards, the People's Committee of Ninh Hoa Town coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to direct relevant agencies and units, the People's Committee of Ninh Son Commune and local people to concentrate forces, thereby basically controlling the fire at around 5:00 p.m. on May 8.

The forces also organized support to extinguish the fire and evacuate the property of people in 3 guard huts in the areas where the fire occurred. Currently, the units are continuing to inspect and handle the fire to prevent it from re-igniting.

Authorities and people joined in putting out the fire.

Regarding the above fire, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has just issued a document requesting the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to direct the Forest Protection Sub-Department and the Northern Khanh Hoa Protective Forest Management Board to concentrate forces, continue to inspect and handle the fire to prevent it from breaking out again.

Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Military Command and the Provincial Police to direct the Ninh Hoa Town Military Command to coordinate with relevant agencies and units to concentrate forces to fight the fire; prepare necessary means and equipment to respond when necessary; inspect, investigate, clarify the cause of the fire, promptly and strictly handle organizations and individuals with violations...
