5 types of college degrees
According to Clause 2, Article 12 of the 2019 Law on Education, the types of diplomas of the national education system include: Junior high school diploma; high school diploma; intermediate diploma; college diploma; bachelor's degree, master's degree, doctoral degree and equivalent qualifications.
As for university diplomas (also known as bachelor's diplomas), the Law stipulates that this is the type of certificate that students will receive after completing their study program at universities with the following classifications: excellent, good, fair, average.
University degrees are divided into 5 majors:
- Bachelor's degree (university degree in basic sciences such as Pedagogy, Law, Economics);
- Medical degree, pharmacist degree (university degree in Medicine and Pharmacy);
- Engineering degree (university degree in Engineering);
- Architectural degree (university degree in Architecture);
- University degree of other majors.
Conditions for consideration for university degree
According to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, students are considered and recognized as university graduates when they meet the following conditions:
- Accumulate enough credits and complete other required content as required by the training program, meeting the output standards of the training program.
- Cumulative GPA of the entire course is average or above.
- At the time of graduation, not being prosecuted for criminal liability or not being under disciplinary action at the level of suspension from school.
Therefore, students who want to be considered for graduation recognition and awarded a university degree must fully meet the above conditions.
Can a lost university diploma be reissued?
According to regulations, all types of diplomas and certificates are issued once. Diplomas and certificates will be reissued in the event that the issuing authority is found to have written incorrect information.
In addition, for university level, when the diploma is lost, the student will not be reissued the original but only a copy from the original book. The copy of the university diploma is valid in place of the original. Thus, when the original university diploma is lost, the student will not be reissued the original.
In case you have a request to reissue a diploma or certificate, you need to send the application directly or by post to the competent authority. The application includes: application for reissuance of diploma or certificate; diploma or certificate requested for reissuance; documents proving that the competent authority that issued the diploma or certificate wrote the wrong diploma or certificate.
Currently, the fee for reissuing a copy of a university diploma is collected according to the regulations of each school, usually ranging from 30,000 - 50,000 VND/copy, the highest being 80,000 VND/copy.
