A series of experiences in Egypt, Japan or cross-country cruises are suitable for tourists looking for "unique and expensive" travel itineraries during Lunar New Year.

The Tet holiday, which is expected to last 9 days, is forecast by travel agencies to stimulate demand for long-term travel. Many agencies said that there are groups of tourists who are familiar with traditional itineraries and want to seek more "unique" experiences. Below are 5 "unique and expensive" itineraries suggested by travel agencies.

Icebreaker and fishing in Japan

The tour, which goes through 6 cities including Hokkaido, Chitose, Sapporo, Otaru, Asahikawa and Abashiri, is priced at 70 million VND. Ms. Nguyen Nguyet Van Khanh, Marketing and Communications Director of Vietravel, said this is an unforgettable experience for any tourist.

The highlight of the trip is a trip on an icebreaker in the Sea of Okhotsk. The ship uses a giant drilling machine to crush ice blocks along the way. If you are lucky, you can also see many birds and seals in this sea.

The program also includes many typical Japanese winter activities such as ice fishing on Lake Abashiri or banana boating on snow - suitable for both adults and children. In addition, the Sounkyo Ice Festival is an activity that takes visitors into a mystical world with ice sculptures shimmering under multi-colored lights.

Visitors should prepare non-slip shoes, thermal clothing and other warm items such as gloves, scarves and woolen hats because in January, the temperature in northern Japan can be as cold as minus 10 degrees Celsius, with heavy snow and strong winds.

Challenge yourself in Japan

If you are familiar with traditional routes, you can choose the 6-day "Japan Challenge" itinerary, through famous cities and regions, including Tokyo, Hakone, Mount Fuji, Kawaguchi, Nagano, Kamikochi National Park and Osaka; price is about 30-35 million VND.

Visitors trek along hot springs and view Mount Fuji in Hakone and kayak on Lake Kawaguchi. In Nagano, visitors try mountain biking and skiing. In Kamikochi, visitors trek through forests and hike. After outdoor activities, visitors stay overnight at a ryokan - a traditional hotel with hot springs, providing a relaxing space in a natural setting.

Deputy Director Pham Anh Vu of Viet Travel Company said this is a new journey, aimed at those who love adventure travel and want to explore Japanese culture and nature in a different way. The diverse activities help visitors challenge themselves and enjoy the peaceful beauty of this country.

Short 5-star cruise around Asia

The trend of traveling by 5-star cruise ships during Tet is attracting many Vietnamese families, especially short-term tours, according to CEO Pham Kim Nhung of Startravel - a unit specializing in organizing cruise tours. Ms. Nhung said this type of tour is suitable for many generations, meeting the needs of rest and relaxation of families during Tet, especially those who like to explore but still want to return home in time to celebrate Tet with their families.

The 4-day, 3-night Singapore - Malaysia cruise tour on the Anthem of the Seas from the 28th to the 2nd of Tet has the highlight of the North Star observation deck, allowing panoramic views of the sea from a height of more than 90 m. Entertainment services such as simulated skydiving or a rich restaurant system from Asia to Europe also make the days at sea more interesting.

Another option to experience a 5-star cross-country cruise is the Singapore - Malaysia - Thailand or China - Japan itinerary on the MSC Bellissima. The plus point of the tour is that visitors will have time to experience many cities on the journey, not just drifting at sea.

5 star cruise around the Persian Gulf

The 5-star MSC Euribia cruise will take visitors through Middle Eastern cities such as Dubai, Doha, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi to experience top shopping malls, see skyscrapers and unique cultural works. The 8-day journey departing during Tet costs nearly 77 million VND per person.

On its homepage, the MSC Euribia is introduced as having a capacity of more than 6,300 guests, owning shopping areas, international restaurants and relaxation spaces such as spas and saunas. The cruise ship also owns an IMAX cinema, a Broadway stage as well as sports activities and a water park for children.

According to a Vietravel representative, a cruise on the Persian Gulf is a new experience for Vietnamese tourists and the company currently has 20 customers registered. This itinerary is suitable for groups of customers who are familiar with traditional tours and want to find a new experience at a reasonable price.

Hot air ballooning in Egypt

Egypt tours are often picky because of their high prices, ranging from 65-80 million VND depending on the itinerary, along with the harsh weather depending on the season. Mr. Hoang Nghia Dat, CEO of VNA Travel Hanoi, said that Egypt tours are suitable for customers with experience in foreign travel, good health and financial capacity, and who love history and culture.

The highlight of the tour is the opportunity to visit wonders such as the Giza pyramids, the Great Sphinx, explore the tombs and mummies of the Pharaohs. Other experiences include a panoramic view of the Valley of the Kings from a hot air balloon, a 5-star cruise on the Nile, car racing or camping in the Sahara desert. In addition, diving in the Red Sea and enjoying grilled lamb, a typical dish of the desert, are also unforgettable experiences.

"Egypt is a special journey, combining both ancient and modern elements," said Mr. Dat.
