3,000 actors participate in mass art festival

At a press conference on the afternoon of April 2 in Hanoi, Colonel Tong Van Thanh, Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department - General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, said that the festival had the participation of 80 mass art troupes from units inside and outside the army. The number of troupes participating in the festival is associated with the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, an increase of 19 troupes compared to the 9th festival - 2019.

This year, the festival is held in 3 regions: the South (April), the Central and Central Highlands (May), and the North (July). After 15 years, the festival is held in the Central Highlands, which is a practical activity, concretizing the direction of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on assigning the General Department of Politics to research and direct the promotion of spiritual and cultural activities in the Central Highlands.

According to Colonel Dang My Hanh, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Arts of the Propaganda Department, each program participating in the festival has a minimum duration of 30 minutes, a maximum of 45 minutes, including at least 2 types of art (singing, dancing, music, theater...). In particular, the program of each mass art troupe in the army has at least 1/3 of self-composed performances, which is one of the criteria for the award of excellent program.
