212 students from Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, and Quang Tri provinces have just been awarded Vallet scholarships in 2024 with a total value of nearly 3.5 billion VND.
On the afternoon of September 3, in Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province, the Science and Education Association "Meeting Vietnam" held the 2024 Vallet Scholarship Award Ceremony for excellent students from the three provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh.
According to Professor Tran Thanh Van, Chairman of the Science and Education Association “Meeting Vietnam”, the Vallet Scholarship Fund is the largest scholarship fund among the scholarship funds of the Science organization “Meeting Vietnam”.
Dr. Esperan Padonou, Director of the Vallet Scholarship Fund, said that Professor Odon Vallet will continue to maintain the Vallet Scholarship Fund for another 100 years. In particular, the value of the scholarships will be increased annually to help and support students on their path of study and scientific research, and that value will continue to increase as long as the Vallet Scholarship Fund is in operation. The Fund will also continue to accompany Vietnam in awarding meaningful scholarships to poor students who overcome difficulties and excel in urban, mountainous, remote, border, island, and ethnic minority areas...

At the ceremony, 212 excellent students from the three provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh received Vallet scholarships in 2024; the total value is nearly 3.5 billion VND. Of which, the value of each scholarship for students is 29 million VND/student and for pupils is 15 million VND/student.
From 2001 to 2024, with the support and assistance of Professor Odon Vallet, the Association of Science and Education “Meeting Vietnam” has awarded more than 55,000 scholarships to excellent students with excellent achievements in Vietnam, with a total amount of about 500 billion VND; helped many excellent students with difficult circumstances; encouraged, motivated and created conditions to support and motivate them to be more steadfast and confident in their studies.
In 2024 alone, the “Meet Vietnam” Science and Education Association will continue to award scholarships to over 2,000 excellent students and postgraduates nationwide, with a value of over 40 billion VND.
The Vallet Scholarship was established in 2001, with the voluntary contribution of Professor Odon Vallet working at Sorbonne University, France. The scholarship has accompanied the scientific and educational development activities of the Rencontres du Vietnam, founded by Professor Tran Thanh Van and his wife, Professor Le Kim Ngoc, to award scholarships to excellent students in Vietnam.
