2 bars in Binh Duong become gathering places for customers to use drugs

(Dan Tri) - Binh Duong police have eradicated two drug-using hotspots in Thuan An City and Thu Dau Mot City. Thereby, 107 people were prosecuted and punished for storing, organizing and using drugs.

On the afternoon of January 10, Binh Duong Police held a conference to inform about some outstanding results in ensuring security and order (SOC) in 2024.

At the conference, a representative of Binh Duong Police said that during the days of launching the campaign to attack and suppress all types of crimes, ensuring security and order before, during and after Tet At Ty 2025, the unit had eliminated 21 locations for buying, selling, storing, organizing and illegally using drugs; thereby, arresting and handling 186 people.

In particular, 2 locations that regularly organized drug use were eliminated, including D1 bar, Binh Hoa ward, Thuan An city and TH Club bar, Hiep Thanh ward, Thu Dau Mot city.

During the inspection of the two shops, the police arrested and prosecuted 5 people for storing and organizing illegal use of drugs. They also filed cases and prosecuted 102 people for illegal use of drugs, and seized many related exhibits and tools.

Specifically, on December 22, 2024, the police raided the TH Club bar on Pham Ngoc Thach Street, Thu Dau Mot City, which was holding a music event and discovered 42 people testing positive for drugs (including 6 employees of the bar).

Then, at around 1:00 a.m. on December 29, 2024, Thu Dau Mot City Police coordinated with the Mobile Police Force of Binh Duong Province Police to continue to suddenly inspect the above bar, conduct a rapid drug test, and the police discovered that 30 people including guests, employees and bar managers tested positive for drugs.

At about 11:00 p.m. on November 17, 2024, the Criminal Police, Economic Police, Drug Police, Administrative Police, Mobile Police, and Fire Police of Binh Duong Police Department administratively inspected the D1 bar business establishment (business license is a restaurant).

During the inspection, the police discovered that 23 guests tested positive for drugs. Working with them, the police identified 17 people with signs of organizing illegal drug use and illegal drug use.

The group confessed to buying drugs (ketamine, ecstasy...) and then inviting each other to the D1 bar to use them together.

Bar D1 is regularly inspected and many people are found to be positive for drugs. Typically, on the night of April 30, 2024 and early morning of May 1, 2024, Thuan An City Police administratively inspected the above bar and found 63/144 people positive for various types of drugs (59 guests, 4 employees).

On December 16, 2024, the police continued to inspect bar D1 and discovered 39 people testing positive for drugs (33 men, 6 women).
