Depending on their positions, Nguyen Tran Anh Vu (HCMC Department of Construction) or Nguyen Hoang Duy Luu (HCMC High-Tech Agricultural Zone) always seek to improve their daily work methods to answer the question "Is there a better way to support people?".

Initiative from the concerns of young faces

From 2021 to present, Anh Vu has proposed 9 initiatives related to management in the construction industry. In 2023 alone, he and the professional department will advise on solutions to implement the urban government model and Resolution 98 of the National Assembly in Ho Chi Minh City.

Among them, it is possible to mention the procedure for establishing management boards for urban development areas in the Northwest, Thu Thiem and the South of the city, helping the City People's Committee perform the task of managing urban development investment in the areas as the name suggests.

Mr. Vu said that the model conversion from administrative agencies to public service units helps to arrange the apparatus in a compact and efficient manner. At the same time, it builds a team of highly professional civil servants who perform their functions and tasks well according to regulations.

Not to mention the storage of records, documents, and arrangement of personnel from the urban investment and construction management board when transferring management functions to specialized departments and district and county People's Committees is also convenient.

The initiatives of young faces like Vu and the Department of Organization and Personnel (Department of Construction) were recognized by the department's leaders, recognized with a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister, the title of "Young, talented, friendly cadres, civil servants and public employees" at the city level, and a number of other awards.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Hoang Duy Luu is also considered an innovative person of the unit. Passionate about research, he always finds ways to innovate the city's agricultural sector in the direction of applying technology, modern development, and how to help farmers gradually get used to clean agriculture.

And 15 initiatives were born from that concern, contributing to the effectiveness of high-tech agricultural production in the city.

Duy Luu participates in the process of producing rosemary in greenhouses using drip irrigation systems, transferring to units in Ninh Thuan, Phu Yen, and Hau Giang.

In addition, the initiatives "Building a model for producing Cymbidium and Dendrobium orchids in the production garden stage" and "Building a process for producing freeze-dried soursop powder" have been put into practice. When applied, these initiatives have helped increase product value and profits for the unit by 500 - 600 million VND/year.

Choose to volunteer and commit

The common feature of these two young men is that they are both passionate about volunteer activities. As Secretary of the Youth Union of the Department of Construction, Anh Vu proactively advises the department's leaders on tasks to increase the professional content of movement activities and youth projects associated with the unit's tasks.

The youth volunteer team that guides and handles administrative documents and procedures at the Department of Construction's document reception and return department, established in April 2022, has received and guided documents for more than 300 people and businesses.

"I believe that volunteer activities need to promote your expertise, so I propose establishing the above-mentioned youth volunteer team.

Up to now, the team has brought convenience to the people and businesses. Honestly, receiving the gratitude from the people feels even better than receiving a certificate of merit" - Vu shared.

Duy Luu has been a familiar face in the Ho Chi Minh City youth volunteer intellectual team since 2013. He has participated in many volunteer fronts, sharing topics on high-tech agriculture, melon growing techniques, leafy vegetables, sprouts, ornamental plants... with his own expertise.

In addition, Duy Luu also connected and welcomed students participating in the "Knowledge Bus" program of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union. Thanks to that, thousands of students have visited and experienced the reality at the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Agricultural Park in recent times.

Learning good things is difficult, like climbing a mountain, one must work hard and struggle to reach the top. Learning bad things is easy, like slipping on the top of a mountain and falling into a deep abyss. I take that as a reminder to myself to try my best in every task, no matter how small.

Recognition of efforts

Both Anh Vu and Duy Luu were awarded the title of Outstanding Young Citizen of Ho Chi Minh City 2023 by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union.

This year, Anh Vu also received a certificate of merit from the Central Youth Union for his outstanding achievements in Youth Union work, a certificate of merit from the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for his excellent performance in two consecutive years, and a certificate of merit from the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union for his active participation in summer activities and summer volunteer programs and campaigns.

In addition to the Ly Tu Trong Award and the title of National Excellent Young Worker in 2023, Duy Luu also received a certificate of merit from the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for participating in the implementation of Nguyen Hue Flower Street, a certificate of merit from the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for excellent performance in two consecutive years, and a certificate of merit from the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union for excellent participation in the Spring Volunteer Campaign.
