On June 29, Hoang Anh Gia Lai University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital updated new information about 19 students from Chi Lang High School (Pleiku City) who were hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning and E.coli infection. Currently, most of the students have been discharged from the hospital, are in stable health, and have fully participated in the high school graduation exam.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong - Deputy Director of Hoang Anh Gia Lai University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital - said: "As soon as the students were admitted to the hospital, the doctors diagnosed a suspected E.coli infection, so they were given appropriate medication and treatment according to the correct regimen. After that, the health of the 19 students gradually stabilized and they were discharged to take the high school graduation exam."
Currently, Hoang Anh Gia Lai University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital has reported the results of testing the specimens to the Gia Lai Provincial Food Safety and Hygiene Department and relevant agencies for evaluation conclusions.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on June 15, Chi Lang High School organized a communal kitchen for nearly 400 people including students, teachers, and school workers. In addition, many students used food sent in by their families such as fruit, yogurt, cakes, etc.
After that, 19 students went to Hoang Anh Gia Lai University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital for emergency treatment with symptoms of vomiting, abdominal pain, and fever.
