The test time for each specific subject is 120 minutes for Math and Literature, and 60 minutes for English.

The Department of Education and Training of Cao Bang province announced that English has been selected as the third subject, in addition to Math and Literature, required in the 10th grade high school entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, students taking the exam at high schools and provincial boarding schools for ethnic minorities will take three subjects: Math, Literature, and English. Students taking the exam at specialized high schools will take an additional specialized subject in addition to the general subjects.

Previously, the Department of Education and Training of Lang Son province also issued a notice on the subjects in the 10th grade entrance exam for public high schools in the 2025-2026 school year. Accordingly, the subjects include: Math, Literature and English. For candidates applying to Chu Van An High School for the Gifted, in addition to the general subjects, students will take an additional specialized subject exam according to their registered wishes.

The Department of Education and Training of Bac Kan also announced that the third subject of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year in the area is English.

Nghe An Department of Education and Training said that the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year will be conducted with 3 subjects including Literature, Math and Foreign Language (English and French). This is also the subject that Nghe An education sector has conducted for many years. The Foreign Language subject will be tested in the form of multiple-choice objective tests, with a test time of 60 minutes.

Thua Thien - Hue announced that in addition to the two required subjects of Literature and Math, the province has chosen a third subject, Foreign Language (English, French or Japanese).

Lam Dong also chose English as the third subject in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year. English will be tested in 60 minutes, Math in 90 minutes and Literature in 120 minutes.

Thus, up to now, most provinces and cities have chosen or planned the third subject in the 10th grade public high school exam for the 2025-2026 school year to be Foreign Language (or English).
