On January 10, Sapo Vietnam announced the results of a survey of 15,000 commercial and retail establishments nationwide on the retail sales situation in 2024.

According to the survey, Facebook Live accounts for 23% and TikTok Live accounts for 18% of the total livestream sessions of sellers who are doing multi-channel business or selling only online. Shopee Live is less popular (10%) , mainly used by businesses and business households specializing in selling on e-commerce platforms.
Not only growing strongly in quantity, the way and features of selling via livestream on platforms are also being improved and innovated continuously. For example, in 2024, based on the combination with sales management platforms such as Sapo, Meta launched Facebook LiveShopping - a feature that allows sellers to both live stream and attach a shopping cart for buyers to choose products and pay quickly right in the live session.
According to Ms. Le Thi Nga, Director of Sapo Social Commerce & Shipping, livestreams with creative content and customer interaction through minigames can increase viewing rates by up to 35% compared to regular product introduction sessions. When combined with fast and accurate shipping services, sellers will create a complete value chain, from approaching customers to home delivery, helping to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.
In addition to livestream sales, 2024 continues to record multi-channel sales as the most effective form of business when 55.7% of the group of sellers with revenue growth are applying the multi-channel model, with revenue mostly in the range of 200 million - 1 billion VND/month. In addition, e-commerce continues to increase its market share in the retail trade revenue structure. Cashless payments have now become a popular payment tool when most businesses and retailers accept payment by bank transfer or QR code scanning.
In addition, optimizing the effectiveness of applying technology to sales, AI (artificial intelligence) has become a tool for analyzing customer data and providing automatic product advice to help sellers increase efficiency, optimize costs, and increase profits.

The trend of increasing experience when selling on digital platforms
Based on the 66% of small and medium-sized sellers surveyed who said they have not used livestream, e-commerce is forecast to continue to grow strongly in 2025. However, for the livestream sales model, Sapo Vietnam recommends that sellers pay special attention to the origin of the product as well as comply with increasingly strict regulations of the platforms when broadcasting live.
In e-commerce, most retailers said they will expand their sales channels on various digital platforms including social networks and e-commerce platforms.
When sellers have applied many similar sales methods, the sales method will be the factor that makes the difference for the seller. Sapo Vietnam recommends that sellers increase investment in technology to reduce personnel costs; at the same time, increase the product experience as well as regularly have customer care programs such as discounts, giving vouchers, reducing or exempting shipping costs, golden hour promotions... to attract new customers and retain old customers.
Additionally, increase the efficiency of social commerce exploitation to build brands and reduce advertising costs.
