13 irrigation works in Dak Nong run out of water

The leader of Dak Nong Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited said that out of 13 dry lakes and dams, 9 projects are located in Dak Mil district, including: Dak Ken lake, Doi 40 lake, Doi 35 lake, Dak Mbai lake, Dak Louu lake, Tang Gia lake (all in Dak Lao commune); Doi 3 lake, Manh Thang Cooperative dam (Duc Manh commune) and Dak Gan Forestry Lake, Dak Gan commune.

Dak Mil district has 9 out of 13 projects in Dak Nong province that have run out of water.

Most of these lakes and dams have run out of water since early March 2025. Dak Ken Lake alone has run out of water since mid-February 2025.

Dak Ken Lake, Dak Lao Commune, Dak Mil District has run out of water since mid-February 2025.

Among the irrigation works that have run out of water in Dak Mil, there are 4 reservoirs (Dak Ken Lake, Doi 35 Lake, Doi 40 Lake, Dak Louu Lake) that can pump water from larger lakes such as Doi 1 Lake and West Lake to combat drought. The remaining works have no measures to supply water.

People's water pumps are placed at Team 40 Lake, Dak Lao Commune, waiting for water to be pumped from Team 1 Lake.

In Krong No district, there are 3 dams that have run out of water: Thanh Son, Dak Trung, Dak Thanh. These dams have run out of water since mid-March 2024. In addition, Xu Dang lake in Dak Song district has run out of water since March 17, 2025.

Currently, Dak Nong Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited is managing 208 reservoirs and dams. In addition to 13 dry reservoirs and dams, there are 30 reservoirs and dams with water levels below 30% of capacity.

Dak Nong Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited pumps water from West Lake to reservoirs that have run out of water in the area.

It is expected that by the end of March 2025, Dak Nong will have 22 lakes and dams running out of water. In April 2025, Dak Nong will have 15 more projects running out of water.
