Mr Zelenskyy’s trip, announced on the messaging app Telegram, will focus on Ukraine’s long-running effort to secure the support of countries in the southern hemisphere in its 21-month war with Russia.

The Ukrainian president said he also met the Prime Minister of the West African nation of Cape Verde, Ulisses Correia e Silva, on his way to Argentina and thanked him for his support for Ukraine.
President Zelenskyy's administration has been trying to build ties with African, Asian and South American countries in recent times. He is seeking to convene a "global peace summit" to promote a peace plan in Ukraine.
The inauguration of the new President Milei will take place today (December 10) local time. As is known, this 53-year-old liberal politician won a surprise victory in the Argentine election in mid-November.
In another important Ukraine-related event, next week's European Union summit is expected to decide whether to start talks with Ukraine and Moldova on allowing them to join the bloc.
