Volunteer to contribute to building new countryside

Implementing the program of building new rural areas, the Youth Union at all levels has promoted propaganda work, raising awareness among union members and youth about building new rural areas. The work of sponsoring communes to build new rural areas has been focused on implementation. Assigned by the province to sponsor Huong Son commune, Huong Hoa district in building new rural areas, the Provincial Youth Union organized the launching ceremony of the 2024 provincial-level summer volunteer campaign with volunteer works and tasks for social security such as presenting the "House of Love" project, the "Light of the Countryside Road" project, etc.

At the same time, actively mobilize resources, implement accompanying activities, support the Youth Union and people of Huong Son commune to develop the economy such as: support preferential loans for young people to start businesses, organize training, transfer science and technology in economic development for people; propaganda, consultation, career guidance, job introduction for local Youth Union...

Deploying mass volunteer days to promote the pioneering role and responsibility of the Youth Union in participating in building the new rural areas. Propagating and mobilizing people to raise awareness of environmental protection, limiting the use of plastic bags, reducing plastic waste...

The joint activities to build the new rural areas have been widely implemented with many practical contents, clearly affirming the role and mark of youth in building the new rural areas. In recent times, the Youth Union at all levels has upgraded, repaired and cleared 50 km of rural roads; built 35 km of youth projects "Light of the Countryside" with a total value of 1.4 billion VND; built 30 "Bright-green-clean-beautiful" roads; planted 295,000 new trees; established and maintained 125 youth volunteer teams to collect waste in residential areas...

Volunteer activities to protect the environment and respond to climate change have been promoted. The whole group has organized 270 communication activities to raise awareness of protecting the environment, natural resources, and responding to climate change, attracting nearly 15,000 youth union members to participate. Effectively maintaining activities such as "Volunteer Saturday" and simultaneously organizing "Green Sunday" in the province.

Accordingly, the whole group organized 860 environmental sanitation campaigns with 190 youth volunteer teams to propagate the reduction of plastic waste, use electricity economically and safely; handle 48 illegal waste points; plant and care for 15,300 trees; effectively maintain 40 models of waste classification at source and many other creative works of local youth, attracting 50,000 youth union members to participate.

In addition, voluntary activities to ensure social security have been focused on by the Youth Union at all levels with many activities directed towards remote and disadvantaged areas. Thereby, free medical examination and medicine have been provided to 5,000 people; 25 houses of gratitude and charity have been built; 7,900 gifts have been presented to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, policy families, former youth volunteers and scholarships for students in difficult circumstances, lonely elderly people... with a total value of nearly 5 billion VND.

Activities to accompany young people in starting and establishing businesses have been focused on by all levels of the Youth Union. Continue to effectively operate the provincial youth startup network with nearly 2,000 young entrepreneurs participating... Direct, guide and support young people in building models, youth economic clubs, and economic development cooperatives. Up to now, the whole province has 86 clubs and economic development cooperatives, 510 youth economic models with an income of over 100 million VND/year/model...

Career counseling, orientation, and job referral activities for young people have been focused on. Youth Union chapters at all levels have organized 150 career guidance activities, 52 job referral and consultation activities for 12,300 young union members and demobilized soldiers, of which new jobs were introduced to 5,600 young union members. Activities to accompany young people in training and developing life skills, improving physical fitness, and spiritual and cultural life have been organized in many rich and diverse forms.

Through the internet and social networks, the Youth Union at all levels has built many online interactive playgrounds, designed stickers... to guide social practice skills for young people with 250 activities attracting nearly 10,000 young people to participate... The whole Union has organized 530 cultural and artistic competitions and performances; 710 friendly football, volleyball, badminton activities... attracting over 90,000 union members, young people and people to participate.

In fact, with volunteer activities, young people in the province have promoted their capacity and intelligence to rise up in life. At the same time, through specific projects and tasks, the Youth Union members have contributed to creating changes, changing the face of the countryside, contributing with localities to implement the criteria for building new rural areas and advanced new rural areas according to the plan and roadmap set out.

In 2025, the movement "Youth join hands to build new rural areas" will continue to be implemented by all levels of the Youth Union. Strive to mobilize resources, organize 1-2 activities, and provincial-level youth projects to participate in building and completing infrastructure, landscapes, and protecting the rural environment. Implement at least 2 youth road projects with the criteria of "Bright - green - clean - beautiful - safe" in disadvantaged communes, border areas, remote areas.

Continue to support young people in economic development associated with agricultural restructuring, economic restructuring, while promoting cooperation and linkage to develop value chains and advanced agricultural models, ensuring stable output for young people's agricultural products. Enhance the role of the Youth Union in implementing the New Rural Development Program for the 2021-2025 period...
