ANTD.VN - Some individuals claiming to represent law firms and consulting companies contacted businesses operating in the gold jewelry business to support the issuance of Certificates of eligibility to trade in gold jewelry.
The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Ho Chi Minh City branch has just issued a document requesting the Jewelry and Gemstone Association and the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities in the area to coordinate and increase information on gold jewelry production activities.
The document stated that the State Bank of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City branch, had noticed a phenomenon of some individuals claiming to be law firms or consulting firms contacting companies and businesses operating in the gold jewelry and fine art business to request support in applying for a Certificate of eligibility to produce gold jewelry and fine art and requesting a large sum of money for expenses.
“This action has been taken advantage of by criminals who take advantage of businesses’ trust and lack of information for personal gain, not in accordance with regulations, and affecting the reputation of the State Bank of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City branch, and the quality of public services,” the document stated.

According to the management agency, the issuance of a certificate of eligibility for the production of gold jewelry is an administrative procedure, assigned by the State Bank of Vietnam to the State Bank branches in provinces and cities to carry out according to decentralization, responsibilities and tasks.
The State Bank of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City branch, has publicly posted this procedure at the branch's headquarters, providing guidance to businesses on the documents and procedures that will be considered for granting the Certificate.
“This procedure is free and hassle-free, only requiring businesses to be qualified and comply with legal regulations in their operations.
Therefore, businesses in need should contact the one-stop transaction department directly for guidance, without going through an intermediary, to avoid losing costs and being taken advantage of" - the State Bank of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City branch, recommends.
Therefore, this agency requested the Gemstone Jewelry Association and the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities in the area to coordinate in informing gold jewelry and fine art production enterprises to grasp, implement and promptly prevent bad deeds that affect enterprises, the investment and business environment and the management of the State Bank.
