Strictly handle those who take advantage of the epidemic to increase drug prices

To ensure the supply of drugs and control the price of drugs for treatment, the Drug Administration of Vietnam (Ministry of Health) requests the health departments of provinces and cities to direct medical examination and treatment facilities in the area to urgently and proactively purchase drugs for the treatment of pink eye in appropriate forms, be ready to promptly supply drugs for treatment, and not let a shortage of drugs occur for the people.

Currently, the situation of pink eye disease is on the rise in some provinces and cities.

At the same time, direct pharmaceutical businesses in the area to strictly implement regulations on drug price management, not to take advantage of the epidemic situation to speculate, hoard and unreasonably increase drug prices for profit.

Drug retail establishments in the area are responsible for properly implementing regulations on selling prescription drugs and are responsible for guiding people when buying drugs, using drugs according to the doctor's prescription and instructions for use of the drug to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Provincial and municipal health departments shall strengthen inspection and examination of the production and trading of drugs for the treatment of pink eye; strictly handle violations (if detected), especially cases of trading in drugs of unknown origin, taking advantage of the epidemic to unreasonably increase drug prices.
