In an interview with Bored Panda , Masayuki Oki said that he has loved cats since he was a child: "My family didn't allow me to keep cats, so I loved them unilaterally until I was 30 years old.
That's when I decided to take my camera and go hunting for pictures of cats. Honestly, at first, the pictures were terrible, but gradually I took many interesting pictures and from then on photography became my hobby."

Masayuki Oki always tries to capture the most authentic moments of cats without bringing them toys or food.
All photos will be based on the "model's" natural mood and actions at that moment.

Over the past ten years, photographer Masayuki Oki has been photographing cats all over Japan, sharing the adorable images on his Instagram page with nearly 400,000 followers.
He also shared his further wish on his personal page when he wrote: "I want to take pictures of all the cats around the world."

Previously, the Japanese photographer had published the photo book Busa-nyan (literally Ugly Cats), thanks to the enthusiastic support of fans, the book sold more than 50,000 copies and became the best-selling book of Tatsumi Publishing.
Busa-nyan is a photo collection of stray cat residents in Tokyo's Shitamachi area, focusing on the personalities of the cats here in the most humorous ways.
