Is Tesla Cybertruck's self-driving technology really safe?
Cybertruck owner Jonathan Challinger said he activated the latest version of the FSD software (v13.2.4) while driving, but the system failed to handle the situation as his lane was about to end, causing the vehicle to hit the curb and then the utility pole.
Fortunately, Challinger was not seriously injured thanks to the Cybertruck's passive safety system. He also affirmed that he took full responsibility for the incident because he was not paying attention to the road.
However, the accident also raised many questions about the ability of FSD to operate, especially in low light conditions. Some experts said that the system still has difficulty recognizing road markings and objects at night.
This is not the first time Tesla's FSD has had problems. There have been previous reports of accidents involving the system, leading many to question its reliability.
Currently, Tesla continues to develop and perfect FSD. However, this incident shows that self-driving technology still has a long way to go to ensure absolute safety for users.
Is FSD really 'full self-driving' as its name suggests? This question awaits an answer from Tesla.
