Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa: During the Lunar New Year 2025, the city's tourism industry has seen strong growth in the number of tourists compared to last year. According to statistics, the number of international visitors to the city during the New Year reached 87,358, an increase of 16.5% over the previous year, while the number of visitors to tourist attractions reached 2.1 million, an increase of 16.7%.
The city also recorded impressive growth in the number of guests staying at 150,000 and room occupancy rate reached 65%, up 44.4%. Revenue is estimated at about 7,690 billion VND, up 17.4% over the same period in 2024 (2024 is 6,550 billion VND).
In fact, maintaining public safety and order, reducing traffic accidents and traffic congestion has helped tourists feel more secure when visiting and relaxing in the city.
According to you, what is the reason why the city attracts a large number of tourists in the early spring days?
The nine-day Tet holiday provides visitors with the opportunity to participate in long-term tourism activities, including shopping and night tours. In addition, the city also organizes many diverse tourism products, attracting a large number of visitors.
Typically, spring tours and typical tourist attractions such as Nguyen Hue Flower Street with the theme "Brocade and flowers, happy spring in peace" have attracted millions of visitors; the Spring Flower Market "On the Wharf, under the Boat" is a unique cultural space, combined with a charity program; the flower street of love is a model combining art and supporting small traders; Phu My Hung Spring Flower Festival is a special destination for bonsai lovers... In addition, double-decker bus tours and river tourism are all attractive products that help the city attract a large number of tourists.
We can clearly see that the operation of Metro Line 1, the river bus route and the Saigon River Park have greatly improved the mobility and experience for tourists. This is also one of the strengths that helps the city become an attractive destination for tourists from the provinces to come and experience spring.

In particular, during the recent Tet holiday, many travel agencies also launched new tours with competitive prices through discount programs. This contributed to a significant increase in the number of visitors and tourism revenue during Tet.
What do you think about the tourism market in the coming time? What programs does the city need to promote attracting more tourists?
In my opinion, the city’s tourism market will continue to be vibrant in the coming time with the ambitious tourism development plan for 2025. Specifically, the city aims to welcome 8.5 million international visitors and 45 million domestic visitors, with total tourism revenue of up to VND260,000 billion.
To implement the above plan, the city's tourism industry must implement a series of solutions. Deployment Key tourism products such as cultural - historical tourism (Saigon Special Forces, revolutionary museum), eco-resort tourism (Can Gio), MICE tourism, cruise tourism... will continue to be promoted.
The city will organize more cultural events and special festivals such as the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival, the River Festival, and large-scale sports and entertainment activities. In particular, focusing on organizing a series of events during the festival to create highlights for tourists.
Strengthen tourism promotion on digital platforms such as: using digital technology, smart tourism maps and 3D/360 applications to enhance the experience for visitors. Promote multimedia communication on international channels and social networks to promote the city's image.
At the same time, the city continues to build unique tourism products and develop night tourism and shopping tourism to meet the needs of high-end tourists and international visitors.
