Tam Hiep Commune: A bright spot for comprehensive development

Located in the fertile land of Chau Thanh district, with 73.79% of the area being agricultural land and 70% of households working in agriculture, Tam Hiep commune has focused on exploiting this strength to create a lever for economic development.

The locality not only provides technical support, but also helps us connect with purchasing units, ensuring stable output for the products.”

In terms of culture, the commune maintains 8/8 re-recognized cultural hamlets, 7/7 cultural routes and 5/5 re-recognized cultural worship facilities. Cultural clubs such as: Don ca tai tu, Gia dinh phap trien thang bao; Team for preventing and combating domestic violence operate effectively with more than 100 members participating each month. At the same time, the commune has created new jobs for 173 workers (138.4% of the plan), sent 3 people to work abroad (100%) and provided vocational training for 25 rural workers (100%).

In particular, the commune has reduced 4 poor households, achieving a poverty reduction rate of 1%. The work of caring for people with meritorious services has been focused on with the mobilization of the Gratitude Fund reaching 107.95 million VND (exceeding the plan by 7%), building 1 gratitude house and repairing 4 houses for policy beneficiaries.

“My house was repaired under the charity housing program last year. This has helped my family have a more spacious and safe place to live during the rainy and stormy season. The commune government always cares about the lives of policy families,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Chanh, a 3/4-class disabled veteran in Hamlet 4.

Regarding security and order, the crime situation has decreased significantly compared to the same period last year (25 cases compared to 36 cases). The Commune Police force has organized 120 propaganda sessions on crime prevention with 1,241 participants, contributing significantly to maintaining local security and order.

In particular, the highlight of Tam Hiep commune is the excellent completion of the goal of building a model new rural area by 2024. The commune has maintained the achievement of new rural criteria and 19/19 criteria (75/75 targets) of the set of advanced new rural criteria.

MAINTAINING NEW RURAL AREA MODEL

With the achievements, Tam Hiep commune has built a specific development roadmap for 2025 with many ambitious but feasible goals, focusing on sustainable agricultural development and perfecting the model of new rural areas.

With its strength in agricultural production, Tam Hiep commune will focus on maintaining the 625 ha orchard area and expanding the area of ​​vegetables and safe food to 582.5 ha. Regarding livestock, the commune aims to develop a herd of 20,000 pigs, 1,250 cows, 130,000 poultry and bring the output of aquatic products to 52 tons of all kinds.

Vice Chairwoman of the Commune People's Committee Nguyen Thi Mong Tuyen emphasized: "The commune will promote the application of science and technology in production, develop value chain linkage models and apply digital technology in production management. The goal is to build an ecological, organic, safe and economically efficient agricultural production area."

Along with agricultural development, the commune will continue to maintain and improve the criteria of an advanced new rural commune, striving to maintain a model new rural area in 2025. One of the key tasks is to invest in developing rural transport, gradually solidifying dirt roads and stone roads with interwoven roads and asphalt roads. With a clear and comprehensive development orientation, Tam Hiep commune is determined to promote the achieved results, continuing to be a typical locality in the emulation movement of Chau Thanh district.
