Having a stable life, people have contributed to building infrastructure, changing the face of the countryside, thereby gradually completing the criteria of new rural communes (NTM).
Spacious village
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Hien - Chairman of Que An Commune People's Committee said: "Que An Commune launched the construction of new rural areas in 2013 with a very low starting point. As a purely agricultural commune, the traffic infrastructure is still limited, the village traffic network is mostly dirt roads, dusty in the dry season, muddy in the rainy season. This has led to many difficulties in socio-economic development.

Immediately after launching the construction of the new rural area, with the attention and direction of all levels and sectors, the commune focused on mobilizing people to donate land, trees, and architectural structures to clear the ground and contribute funds to expand and solidify the rural traffic system.
After more than 10 years of focusing on investment and construction, the traffic system in the commune has been completed to ensure green - clean - beautiful, convenient for local economic development, contributing to changing the face of the countryside and has achieved the regulations according to the standards of the new rural commune in the period of 2022-2025.

The commune center is planned spaciously, the residential area and production development area are planned on a large scale. Essential infrastructure continues to be invested in, culture, education, health care, and environment have positive changes; the political system is consolidated; security and social order are basically maintained. The rural appearance has changed a lot, the material and spiritual life of the people has been significantly improved.
The commune launched movements "All people unite to build new rural areas", competing to build rural roads, build model residential areas, model gardens, green fences, flower roads, decorate gardens, barns, classify waste...
Mr. Hien said that in recent times, poverty reduction has become a priority task and goal, concretized in the Resolution of the People's Council and the plan of the Commune People's Committee. The locality supports many policies on loans, housing, livelihoods... to help many poor and near-poor households overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives, and increase their income.

In addition, the commune has coordinated with socio-political organizations to open 10 vocational training classes for 300 rural workers, mainly in mushroom growing, free-range chicken raising, cow raising, cooking, mixing... to solve employment, create conditions to increase income for rural people. Since then, the rate of poor and near-poor households in Que An commune has decreased significantly compared to before.
The economy is growing well.
In recent years, the Party Committee, the Government, the Fatherland Front, and the mass organizations of Que An commune have focused on leading and directing people to invest in economic development, transforming the structure of crops and livestock, promoting the application of scientific and technological advances in production, developing the garden economy, contributing to solving jobs, increasing income, and improving people's lives.

Up to now, the commune has many economic development models that bring high economic efficiency such as: straw mushroom growing model of Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dong, livestock farming of Mr. Ha, Mr. Hao (Chau Son village).
Que An has a mountainous terrain that is favorable for cattle raising and farm economic development. Along with that, the garden economy has also developed with about 70 gardens, bringing an average annual commodity value of about 30 million VND/garden. Nearly 30 forestry seedling nurseries in the area have created jobs for more than 100 local workers, contributing to increasing income for local people.

In addition, the commune has about 640 hectares of forestry trees, with an average annual income of about 12.8 billion VND. This is also the main source of income, helping local people's lives become increasingly better.
Currently, Que An commune has 3 cooperatives and 2 cooperative groups operating effectively. In particular, Que An Agricultural Cooperative helps to consume livestock products of the people, provide irrigation services.... At the same time, implement a chain of silver-covered peanuts with households to supply the production of Ngoc Hai peanut candy (3-star OCOP product).
With the attention of superiors and local authorities, the development of industry, small-scale industry (TTCN), trade - services (TMDV), and rural occupations in the commune has been focused on. Therefore, the establishments have been invested in and developed, constantly improving the efficiency and quality of products, contributing to the overall economic development of the locality.
In 2023, the economic structure of Que An commune will continue to shift in a positive direction and have a fairly high growth rate, with a total production value of 304.2 billion VND, an increase of 10.18% compared to 2022. Of which, the value of trade and services, handicrafts, and construction will reach 179.2 billion VND; agriculture, forestry and fishery will reach 125 billion VND.

By the end of 2023, Que An commune will basically complete 19/19 criteria for a new rural commune, and Chau Son village will complete 10/10 criteria for a model new rural village.
