Taking advantage of the sunny weather, people focus on preparing the land, planting and fertilizing valuable vegetables. "Currently, the commune is actively coordinating with the Farmers' Association to provide guidance on planting techniques for key vegetables with high selling prices during Tet such as: kohlrabi, cauliflower, cabbage, onions...", said Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Quynh Luong Commune. Currently, the fields of kohlrabi, cauliflower, and carrots have been planted for 15-25 days in a rotational cropping pattern, and will be harvested from mid-December to mid-January. At this time, the demand for vegetables is high, the supply is limited, and the price of vegetables is increasing, so people are actively taking care of them. Photo: Thanh Phuc

“After about 2.5 months of planting, kohlrabi will be ready for harvest. Each sao requires an investment of about 2.5 million VND, the estimated yield is 1.2 tons/sao with the selling price at that time fluctuating from 12,000 - 15,000 VND/kg, which will bring in about 15 million VND/sao,” said Mr. Hoang Van Ba, Thanh Cong village, Quynh Lien commune (Hoang Mai town).
