To prepare for international tournaments leading up to the 2024 Paris Olympics, athlete Hoang Thi Tinh of Thanh Hoa has joined the Vietnamese judo team. She won gold medals at the 31st and 32nd SEA Games and is expected to be one of the brightest faces of Vietnamese judo in the journey to hunt for tickets to the Olympics.
The girl born in 1994 played excellently.
Over the past 3 years, Hoang Thi Tinh has been diligently participating in scoring tournaments and she has competed very tenaciously. Recently, at the 2024 Grand Slam Judo Tournament, Hoang Thi Tinh has accumulated the necessary points to officially enter the top 10 of the Asian Women's Olympic and the top 100 in the world, and is getting closer to the goal of winning an official ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics. She accumulated 160 more points after unexpectedly defeating the world's 48th ranked boxer Lois Petit of Belgium to enter the round of 16. In this match, the Vietnamese boxer successfully locked her opponent to score an Ippon point.
On June 23, the World Judo Federation will officially announce that Hoang Thi Tinh has a ticket to the 2024 Olympics.
