Vinh Phuc focuses on attracting strategic investors

According to the Department of Planning and Investment of Vinh Phuc province, Vinh Phuc is one of the provinces with large industrial scale in Vietnam, so the decline of the global economy has directly affected the province's economy.

The decrease in consumer demand and increase in inventory put pressure on businesses operating in the industrial sector, which was the main cause of the decline in economic growth in the province in the first quarter of 2023. The total product in the province in the first quarter of 2023 is estimated to decrease by 2.47% compared to the same period last year.

To achieve the GRDP growth targets in the remaining months, Vinh Phuc province leaders said that the locality will focus on handling difficulties and removing bottlenecks in all sectors and fields, especially the shortcomings and limitations that have been pointed out by inspection and supervision delegations from the Central and the province.

In 2023, the province will also carry out investment promotion activities, prepare the most favorable conditions to attract strategic investors and attract high-tech projects. According to the General Statistics Office, up to 5 localities had negative growth in gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first quarter of 2023. Among them, there were localities that are production centers of the country. Specifically, Quang Ngai decreased by 1.07%; Vinh Phuc decreased by 2.47%; Ba Ria - Vung Tau decreased by 4.75%; Quang Nam decreased by 10.88%; and Bac Ninh decreased by 11.85%.
