After construction, the temporary bridge serving An Binh ferry terminal has been tested and qualified for use.
Therefore, from 8:00 a.m. on September 15, An Binh ferry terminal was moved to a temporary wharf location in Ward 2, Vinh Long city, about 400m from the old wharf.
The wharf on the An Binh bank, Long Ho district, is still operating normally at the old location.
An Binh ferry crosses the Co Chien River, connecting Ward 1, Vinh Long City with four communes of An Binh Islet in Long Ho District. This ferry plays an important role in transporting goods and the travel needs of the people.
In August 2023, the People's Committee of Vinh Long province announced an emergency situation of subsidence and landslides on the banks of Co Chien and Long Ho rivers, from An Binh ferry to the border of Long Ho river embankment.
By the end of 2023, Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee approved an urgent project to repair the Co Chien River embankment, with a total investment of over 593 billion VND.
