VinBigdata's consecutive highly appreciated achievements in Vietnam and internationally have demonstrated the capacity of the scientific research team as well as the technological quality of "made in Vietnam" products.
AI products improve Vietnamese people's lives
“ViVi 2.0 integrates AI technology to create a very impressive experience. Any answer from history, geography to restaurant and tourist advice is not difficult for ViVi, the way of answering is also very flexible, just like a real person”, shared Mr. Hoang Linh, a customer experiencing ViVi 2.0 on VF 8 Lux Plus in Hanoi.
Not only Mr. Linh, experts and many users were also surprised by the intelligence of ViVi 2.0 as well as the capacity of the development team - VinBigdata.
The new generation of AI products is considered superior to the previous version in its ability to interact flexibly in each context. Instead of asking and answering questions with virtual assistants through available sample commands, users can now chat naturally with a variety of different topics such as history, culture, geography, famous people, etc.

In addition to a massive knowledge base of up to 3,500 TB of characteristic data, along with more than 30,000 hours of high-quality voice data, the ViVi 2.0 virtual assistant also has significant improvements in voice recognition, understanding and analyzing context to respond to users accurately and appropriately.
Along with the virtual assistant ViVi, VinBigdata is also famous for successfully developing products integrating language and voice processing technology such as ViChat (AI-integrated Chatbot), ViVoice (AI-integrated Callbot), or ViGPT (the first Vietnamese version of ChatGPT for end users).
These AI products are currently being deployed in the Vingroup ecosystem with dozens of businesses and government agencies across the country such as the Ministry of Information and Communications (testing with the Information Center), ACB Bank, Lado Taxi... to help automate many manual tasks. The products are evaluated to help businesses and organizations optimize resources and enhance experiences while helping users access and use services quickly, simply and most effectively.
Mastering voice technology , opening a new direction for the world
In addition to the launched products, many new research projects of VinBigdata are being highly appreciated by the world's scientific community.
Specifically, just six months after announcing the launch of ViGPT - the first "Vietnamese version of ChatGPT" for end users (December 2023), VinBigdata has continued to take a step forward in researching and combining large language models to improve the quality of the speech recognition system.

This scientific achievement has just been approved and will be announced at Interspeech 2024 (the world's largest and most comprehensive conference on speech processing technology) this coming September. In the research, VinBigdata proposed a new architecture that uses a large language model to provide contextual information, helping the AI system improve accuracy in speech recognition.
The research opens up a new direction that can solve the current limitations of speech recognition systems, especially in unfavorable conditions such as noisy environments, regional accents, lack of contextual information and the use of rare words (proper names, foreign words...). Experimental results confirm that VinBigdata's system improves the average word error rate (WER) by up to 30% compared to conventional speech recognition systems.
Dr. Nguyen Kim Anh (VinBigdata Product Director) said: “The scientific announcement at the leading international conference Interspeech shows that our investment in researching and mastering speech technology from the core is on the right track. With this research, VinBigdata hopes to gradually apply new technology to increase efficiency, accuracy and user experience when interacting with AI systems such as virtual assistants” .
In addition to the above research, ViBio - VinBigdata's voice biometrics product - has just been recognized as meeting ISO 19795-1 and ISO 19795-2 standards according to the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). From testing by FIME (Laboratory under the US NIST/NVLAP program), ViBio's algorithm has outstanding accuracy in voice authentication, with a false positive rate of only 0.00175% on voice samples collected in Vietnam.
Before establishing two new achievements with Interspeech or NIST certification, VinBigdata had nearly 100 scientific publications in the world's leading journals and conferences. This is a solid foundation for the birth of technology products developed by VinBigdata, while contributing to realizing the aspiration of bringing Vietnamese intelligence to the world that the team of Vietnamese experts and engineers cherish.
“In the future, we will continue to invest in technology research, strengthen our database and develop advanced AI products that can solve difficult problems that Vietnamese people and businesses are facing, in order to contribute to the country's comprehensive digital transformation and affirm Vietnam's technological capacity in the international arena,” shared Dr. Nguyen Kim Anh.
NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) is an abbreviation for the National Institute of Standards and Technology of the United States and is a mandatory requirement for any organization that does business with the US government as well as many state agencies. NIST develops standards and guidelines on information security. By being recognized for international standard quality by NIST, VinBigdata's ViBio product can compete globally, helping to secure authentication through voice biometrics, avoiding information leakage and limiting possible risks of forgery.
