VinBigdata Joint Stock Company has just entered the world's Top 10 in the Mugshot Webcam facial recognition category, announced by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology.
This is the first time a Vietnamese enterprise has been present in the prestigious Top 10 of this category, affirming the ability to be self-sufficient with world-class quality of Vietnamese technology. To achieve this achievement, VinBigdata has surpassed 144/153 facial recognition solutions in the world in one category of the FRTE 1:N Identification test (Compare and search for a specific face in a database of many images of diverse skin color and ethnicity), competing with big names such as Canon (Japan), CloudWalk (China)... In the end, VinBigdata has excellently entered the Top 10 of one of the most difficult categories of the Ranking - Mugshot Webcam (recognizing faces from photos taken with electronic devices, poor photo quality, blurry, smudged photos...).
Not only is it the world's leading rigorous evaluation program, FRTE 1:N Identification is also considered the "gold standard" for evaluating the accuracy and performance of facial recognition technology. Currently, VinBigdata is at the top of Vietnamese technology companies in this ranking. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is an agency of the US Department of Commerce. NIST is one of the world's leading organizations in establishing standards for measurement, technology, and science in various fields. In the field of artificial intelligence and facial recognition, NIST is well known for its performance testing and evaluation of algorithms, especially through the Face Recognition Vendor Test (FRVT). In addition to NIST, last May, VinBigdata's facial recognition technology application product also achieved global certification from iBeta (a member of the FIDO association - the World Online Authentication Alliance) for its ability to identify real people and detect fake identities with an extremely impressive error rate of 0%.
