Vietnam Airlines announced that it will increase the frequency of flights on the Hanoi - Manila route to daily from April 1. The Ho Chi Minh City - Manila route will also have its schedule adjusted to better meet passenger demand.
In order to meet the increasing travel demand between Vietnam and the Philippines, Vietnam Airlines will increase the frequency of flights on the Hanoi - Manila route from 3 flights/week to 7 flights/week, corresponding to an operating schedule of 1 flight/day.

Vietnam Airlines is the first Vietnamese airline to operate direct flights to the Philippines.
The flight schedule between Ho Chi Minh City and Manila will be adjusted to 4 flights/week on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Thus, from April 2025, the total number of flights between Vietnam and the Philippines will increase to 11 flights/week, facilitating travel and trade needs between the two countries.
Mr. Dang Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines, said that from June 2024, Vietnam Airlines will be the first Vietnamese airline to operate direct flights connecting Vietnam and the Philippines.
"After nearly a year of operation, the flight route between Vietnam and the Philippines has affirmed its role as a transportation bridge, as well as an important driving force to promote economic, tourism and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
"The increase in frequency of flights between Hanoi and Manila demonstrates Vietnam Airlines' commitment to providing maximum convenience to passengers, while also contributing to affirming Vietnam's position on the regional aviation map," said Mr. Tuan, expressing his belief that with this development, the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and the Philippines will become increasingly stronger, opening up many new opportunities for both sides.
The Philippines is a potential market for Vietnam Airlines. In 2024, the number of Filipino visitors to Vietnam increased by 73.6% compared to the previous year, while the number of Vietnamese visitors to the Philippines also reached nearly 60,000, according to data from the Philippine Department of Tourism. These figures show great prospects for developing tourism and trade between the two countries.
The increase in flight frequency between Vietnam and the Philippines marks an important step forward in connectivity between the two countries.
According to a representative of Vietnam Airlines, this event is even more meaningful as it takes place on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam Airlines Corporation, demonstrating the airline's continuous efforts over the past three decades to connect Vietnam with the world.
It is expected that in 2025, Vietnam Airlines will open and restore 15 new international routes to important destinations such as Italy, Russia, Denmark, China, India, Japan, Korea, UAE... to provide more options and convenient experiences for passengers.
