(LĐ online) - On the second day of the Farnborough Airshow 2024, right after signing the contract to order A330neo aircraft, Vietjet Air and Rolls-Royce, the UK's leading aerospace and engineering group, have just signed an agreement to supply 40 Trent 7000 engines and TotalCare engine engineering services for 20 new Airbus A330neo aircraft.

The Trent 7000 is a new generation of modern engines developed by Rolls-Royce with the goals of environmental protection and sustainable development. Vietjet has chosen to use the Trent 7000 engine on its A330neo fleet, which is capable of saving more than 14% fuel consumption per seat, helping to significantly reduce emissions. The airline will avoid releasing more than one hundred thousand tons of CO2 into the environment over the life of each aircraft.
TotalCare is a leading-edge engine service, powered by Rolls-Royce’s advanced monitoring system, providing the airline with continuous availability, reliability, operational stability and efficiency. The new agreement will also cover TotalCare on the Trent 700 engines on the airline’s A330ceo fleet.

Vietjet CEO Dinh Viet Phuong shared: “Integrating the modern Trent 7000 engine line on the new generation A330neo fleet, supported by the modern TotalCare service, will help Vietjet make technological breakthroughs, significantly enhance flight quality, while increasing the airline's operational reliability and efficiency. In particular, Rolls-Royce's advanced, fuel-efficient engine line is part of Vietjet's sustainable development strategy with ESG goals, reducing net emissions to 0 (Net-Zero) by 2050”.
The Trent 7000 is developed based on the technology and experience of the most advanced engine line in the world. As the newest member of the Trent family, the Trent 7000 brings Trent XWB technology and outstanding reliability since its introduction into service.
Rolls-Royce is a leading British engineering company, developing and supplying powertrain solutions for safety-critical applications in the air, at sea and on land. The company is currently investing more than £1 billion in further improvements to its Trent engine family. In particular, the newly added Engine Durability Package doubles engine uptime and improves efficiency by up to 30%.
