Because the friendship and cooperation are in line with the fundamental interests of the people of the two countries, as well as the general trend of the world and the times is peace, cooperation and development. During this visit of Mr. Xi Jinping, the senior leaders of the two countries will discuss and reach agreements and common understandings, orienting the future of the relationship between Vietnam and China in all aspects. "Political trust will be higher, cooperation will be more effective and substantive, and the social foundation for the Vietnam-China friendship will also be expanded. The two sides also plan to issue a joint statement on the community of shared futures between Vietnam and China. That is a future of peace, cooperation, prosperous development, the basis for the two sides to promote economic, trade, investment, tourism, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges...", Mr. Tho said. Regarding promoting specific cooperation, Mr. Nguyen Van Tho also said that during this visit of Mr. Xi Jinping, the two sides will also promote the connection of the Vietnam-China "Two Corridors, One Belt" Framework with the "Belt and Road" Initiative. According to the former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, effective cooperation implementation will best serve the interests of the people of Vietnam and China. The issue is to promote cooperation projects that are beneficial to both sides and mutually beneficial. "That is also the wish of the Party, State and people of Vietnam and China," Mr. Tho added.

"Opportunities are greater than challenges"

Speaking to the press, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hung Ba said that during the visit to Vietnam of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, the two sides' senior leaders will discuss in depth a series of important issues, such as further deepening cooperation in the fields of politics, security, economy, trade, and people-to-people exchange; as well as enhancing coordination and cooperation at multilateral forums. It can be said that the strengthening of cooperation in areas with advantages of favorable time, favorable location and harmony between people," Mr. Hung Ba emphasized. Ambassador Hung Ba also said that the two sides will promote the connection of development strategies, speed up the connection of the Vietnam - China "Two Corridors, One Belt" Framework with the "Belt and Road" Initiative. At the same time, the two countries also need to strengthen connectivity and communication on roads, sea routes, in the air as well as on the internet. "I think the most important and priority is that the two sides need to expand and strengthen connectivity and cooperation in the fields of transport infrastructure , especially hard infrastructure, such as railways and highways...", Mr. Hung Ba said.
