
At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed the visit to Vietnam by the Kenyan Defense Minister on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1995-2025), expressing his belief that the Kenyan delegation will have many contributions and initiatives on green and sustainable development for the agenda of the P4G Summit, while contributing to strengthening the friendship between the two countries.
Assessing that climate change is having a strong impact on all countries in the world , the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of multilateralism, calling for international solidarity, especially the role of developing countries like Vietnam and Kenya in contributing to global efforts on green and sustainable development.
The Kenyan Defense Minister expressed his pleasure to be authorized by the President of Kenya to attend the P4G Summit on his behalf, and thanked the high-ranking leaders of Vietnam for their warm and thoughtful welcome. Defense Minister Tuya handed over a letter from Kenyan President William Ruto to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, expressing his wish to further promote the cooperative relationship between the two countries, and welcomed Vietnam, with its vision of sustainable development, for hosting a Summit of great significance to developing countries like Vietnam and Kenya.
The two sides were pleased with the positive developments in Vietnam-Kenya relations recently, including the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the fields of politics and diplomacy, creating a legal framework for regular dialogue, enhancing mutual understanding and trust, and creating opportunities for the development of comprehensive cooperation in many areas of mutual interest.

Emphasizing that there is still a lot of room for cooperation, in order to further promote the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Kenya in the coming time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the two sides promote the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level ones; expand cooperation in other potential areas such as defense - security, trade, education and training, clean agriculture, food security, people-to-people exchange, especially between the two countries' youth generations...
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared that Vietnam pays special attention to and clearly identifies science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as inevitable trends in the country's development and construction, and proposed that the two sides strengthen cooperation and share experiences in this field.
Expressing high agreement with the Prime Minister's cooperation proposals, the Kenyan Defense Minister said that digital transformation is one of the priorities in the socio-economic development process towards making Kenya a financial and technological center of the East African region in particular and Africa in general, affirming his readiness to discuss and cooperate effectively with Vietnam on digital transformation.
In order to facilitate connection, exchange and enhance cooperation, the two sides agreed to study the possibility of opening representative offices in each country, negotiate and sign cooperation documents in the fields of transnational crime prevention, agriculture, science and technology, etc.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister asked the Kenyan Minister of Defense to convey the invitation of high-ranking Vietnamese leaders to Kenyan President William Ruto and Kenyan Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi to visit Vietnam at a suitable time.
