The ranking is surveyed and published by Internationals.

In the rankings, many foreigners rated Vietnam as easy to settle in factors such as: "culture and welcome" (ranked 16th); "finding friends" (ranked 11th) and "hospitality of local people" (ranked 5th). Internations said that more than 4/5 (82%) of foreigners rated Vietnamese people as friendly and hospitable while this index globally is only about 67%. They feel satisfied when being welcomed in Vietnam.

Vietnam is considered a place worth living with affordable prices. In the "personal finance" index, Vietnam is the country that leads the list. This index is based on three factors, including: satisfaction with the financial situation, general living expenses, and whether the income of the survey participants is enough to live comfortably. 77% of respondents rated the cost of living as favorable, while the global average is 44%.

Vietnam is highly rated in the "safety and security" index in Asia. We rank 34th globally in this index, but in Asia we are only behind Taiwan (China), UAE, Singapore, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, South Korea, Japan, and Saudi Arabia.

The Vietnamese language is also an obstacle for foreigners. "In fact, no foreigner living in Vietnam can claim to speak this language well, while this index is 34% globally," the report stated.

In the Internations report, Mexico tops the list, making it into the top 5 for the ninth year running. The country is highly rated in the “ease of settling in” and “friendliness of locals” indices. 75% of expats surveyed said they easily make friends with locals. The global prevalence is 43%.
