In an interview with a VNA reporter about how the domestic press can catch up with new media trends in the future, comrade Le Quoc Minh said: “It is a fact that readers and listeners today have many information channels to access and the press is no longer the only channel as before, so the content of the press for propaganda purposes must be even more attractive and interesting. The Vietnamese press needs to break away from the traditional way of doing things as before and must have new thoughts and ways of doing things to attract users from hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands of channels on the Internet and social networks to come to it.

Of course, we do not follow temporary trends on social networks, but must promote our strengths, innovate our ways of working and expressing, use modern journalism technology so that users find it more attractive, engaging, useful, contribute more to society, and find ways to be friends with the most modern media. There will be many changes that the media and press must quickly grasp such experiences to guide readers, hit the target audience and effectively propagate policies.

Within the framework of the Conference, WAN-IFRA presented the Asian Media Awards (AMA) in many categories. There were 251 entries from 42 media organizations participating in this fierce competition. The awards honored the special achievements of press agencies in front page design, photography and information graphics. For the first time, the 70th Anniversary Dien Bien Phu Victory Propaganda Campaign of Nhan Dan Newspaper was awarded the Gold Prize by WAN-IFRA in the category of Best in Newspaper Marketing. This campaign was implemented in 6 months with 3 main products: Dien Bien Phu Special Page (dienbienphu.nhandan.vn), interactive panorama supplement of the newspaper dated May 7, 2024 and 2 interactive exhibitions of Dien Bien Phu Campaign (in Hanoi and Dien Bien Phu).

Sharing his joy at receiving the award, comrade Le Quoc Minh said: “It can be said that winning a major journalism award for Nhan Dan Newspaper is extremely important. It is a recognition of Nhan Dan Newspaper's products that have made an impression not only on domestic readers but also convinced foreign readers. Therefore, this is truly a great joy for the people who built this project, being able to bring the products of Vietnam's Party newspaper to international friends and convince the very demanding journalism experts that this is a creative work and has great significance for the community, audience, listeners, and readers”.

Established in 1948, WAN-IFRA now includes 3,000 news and technology publishing agencies, and 60 member press associations in 120 countries and territories. WAN-IFRA's main mission is to protect and enhance press freedom, develop high-quality press products, support journalism to innovate and develop in the digital world, and fulfill the important role of journalism in society.
